I thought you might be interested in the miracles that have taken place in my life.
A year ago my mom passed away. she was in her mid nineties and a victim of cancer of the liver.
Surrounded by her children she made the transistion peacefully in her sleep.
On the morning of the burial I drove to the cemetary and as I parked my car i noticed a priest walking up the hill
towards the burial site. I walked along side of him and asked if he was there for my mom Carmen’s service. He
said he was indeed there for the service. As we walked he asked me how I was coping with the loss of my mom. I told him
I was familiar with death having been a soldier in the vietnam war, however nothing prepares one for the death of
their parents. I mentioned to him that what has helped me is knowing how devoted my mom was to her church and Jesus.
Near the end of her life she had told her children that she was not afraid of death but was comforted knowing she would be with God soon.
As we walked to the site the priest told me that “now you have someone in heaven to help you and guide you here on earth”. He told me that
as i go through life “pray to your mom for help and she will be there for you”.
THE MIRACLES OF CARMEN
A few days after the burial service my younger sister and I were in the backyard of our moms house. My sis loves to work in moms vegtable
garden in the afternoon. Sis pointed to one of the trees that she had asked the landscaper to cut down because it looked like it had died
some time ago. He never did cut it down. Later that day i went to take alook at the tree and it truly looked like it had died. There were no
signs of life in it at all. It was grey and gnarley,even the ants didn’t seem to want anything to do with it. All the other fruit trees near
it were flowery and bearing fruit. I couldn’t even figure out what kind of tree it was because of it’s condition.
I remembered what the priest had said to me the day of the burial service for mom. So for some reason i felt compelled to touch the tree and
say a small prayer to mom. I ended the prayer with this request, “Mom if there is any life left in this tree please bless it”. Two day later I
went back to take a look at the tree and I could see small green leaves spouting from it’s branches. Even the branches had changed color.
To this day the tree is still spouting leaves and bearing fruit. It’s a pomagranite tree. And the fruit is large and beautiful and healthy.
Whenever I can I give away baskets of the fruit away to anyone who asks for it. I call the tree Mom’s miracle tree.
Some time after experiencing mom’s miracle with the tree a good friend of mine had told me that his goddaughter had been diagnosed with
stage four cancer. His goddaughter at the time was only four years old. My friend didn’t know about mom’s miracle tree. At the time I had
not told anyone else about it. I wasn’t sure how other people would react to the miracle.
I witnessed the miracle myself so i knew miracles are real. So i decided to ask mom once more for her help. That night I said a small prayer
to mom who throughout her life had expressed so much love for not only her children but all children. I ended the prayer with this request
“Mom please bless this child”.
And now a year later that child has recovered completely from stage four cancer.
I’m sure there are other miracles that my mom has involved her wonderful spirit in. And I’m positive there will be more.
